Sustainability
We all talk about sustainable fashion and how important it is and I agree. But first let's define what sustainability and sustainable clothing means.
Sustainability: Minimizing negative environmental impacts while maximizing community and business benefits. It is important to consider our planet, people and profit in a balanced manner (Tripple P).
Sustainable clothing: Clothing that is produced according to fair trade principles and under exploitation-free working conditions. It has a low impact on the environment because it is made from environmentally friendly or recycled materials and has a long life span (Fletcher, 2008; Joergens, 2006).
At Manoliam, we choose high-quality materials for durable products and pay artisans fairly. We see the benefits of local production, but have made a deliberate choice to produce globally. This allows us to support communities in developing countries while offering affordable luxury products.
